.....the further adventures
of Ed Kilbourne, quietly making noise since 1964.....
Still I know you know you can
Pack your whole world in your van
And find another reason to ride

- Last weekend Kathleen and I went to Atlanta. Some of the best Chinese/Korean
food on the planet has got to be the Chinese restaurant in Korea Town on
Buford Hwy, just inside I-285 on the northeast side of the city. Two morning
worship services and an evening concert at Kingswood UM Church in Dunwoody
- had a great day. We're talking about making it some kind of annual affair
at Kingswood. One of the associates there is Bill Landiss, legendary campus
minister in years past at Georgia Tech. Steve Fazenbaker, who I first met
when he was as student at Georga Tech and who I worked for when he was
chaplain at Reinhardt College, showed up for the day. He's moved back to
Atlanta after stints in the northeast and far west. Twenty years later
he is now the new campus minister at Georgia Tech! What goes around, comes
around ......

- The van is in the shop getting tuned and ready for fall. Our sailboat,
the "Promise" is in its slip waiting for cooler weather and fairer
winds for fall sailing on the lake. Jenny and Amanda are at band camp and
Brooke has just come in from visiting her cousins in Detroit. She heads
off this weekend to visit her grand parents in Albemarle. Kathleen is signing
up a new crop for the CE masters program at Pfeiffer Charlotte. School
is just around the corner ......

- The interstates are choked with traffic. Use to be, you could find
the seams but now it's rush hour from before dawn to after dark. The only
time you can relax even a little, is after midnight. Just you and the trucks.
Gas prices are edging down. Paid $1.19 for regular at SC exit 102 on I-85!
Another "reason to ride" - to South Carolina. Fill 'er up .....

- This fall I begin my 37th season singing and playing for my supper
around the country. It was a little simpler in '64. I drove a Chevy Malibu
wagon, charged $25 a show, and sold my first album ("I Know Where
I'm Going") for $4. More than a million miles later I'm just getting
started. Stay with me .....
