ed kilbourne

This popular artist is known for his collections of moving music, quirky humor, and insightful monologues. In addition to his concert appearances, Ed has earned a reputation as one of America's foremost religious communicators, a folk-theologian if you will, offering sermons in story and song every Sunday as a guest in churches across the United States. He combines acoustic guitar, singing and commentary with a storytelling style that has been compared to that of Garrison Keillor, the radio humorist from 'Lake Wobegon'.

Ed began his career in the early 60's, singing in folk groups while in high school and college. During a professional career of 8000-plus solo appearances over the last 40 years, he has worked in every region of the United States and toured in Europe. Today, his primary area of work is the southeastern US. Ed has recorded 24 albums. His current recordings include a greatest hits collection, "The Best Of Ed Kilbourne", as well as his early albums, "Beyond Belief", "A Place To Watch The Rain", "Leaning Toward The Light", "Building Bridges", and "Promised Land". Also in his catalogue is the children's album, "Daddy's Home" that he recorded with his daughters, as well as the worship music collaborations with fellow artist Chris Hughes, "Light The Fire" and the sequel "Light The Fire Again" with Ed's daughter, Amanda, joining him and Chris. His recent 4-CD set, "The Grateful Ed Live", captures over three hours of his humor and monologues along with his unique musical performances. His latest CD release is the second volume of his "greatest hits" series, "Best Of Ed / Volume 2".

Ed's wife, Kathleen, is a United Methodist minister. She serves as the director the Masters Of Arts In Christian Education degree program for Pfeiffer University. Ed and Kathleen make their home in the country, near Rock Hill, South Carolina and on Manasota Key in Englewood, Florida.
